Sonlight serves Huntington Beach from Downtown and the Pier through Huntington Harbour, Seacliff, Bolsa Chica and the inland tracts east of Beach Boulevard. Eight miles of open coastline means the salt load here is real across a large share of the city, and the sand goes everywhere.
Huntington Beach pumps Orange County Basin wells blended with imported Metropolitan supply, and both ends of that blend are hard: the basin runs ten to fifteen grains per gallon typical. That means every irrigation head that reaches a pane leaves calcium behind through a seven-month rainless season. Southern California does not run on the four seasons that window cleaning advice usually assumes. Huntington Beach follows the Orange County calendar, which is the actual year in the order it happens and what each phase does to your glass.

The Santa Ana Canyon is the corridor these winds are named for, and Anaheim Hills, Yorba Linda, Orange and the South County foothills take them hard. Grit packs tracks and abrades screens, and the inland-facing elevation loads first.

Tracks cleared dry before water, always. Screens inspected as they come off. Active events get rescheduled rather than worked through.

In the eastern and South County interface, smoke residue rather than dust: alkaline ash, fine carbon, condensed tars.
