Heat is the other governing factor and it changes how the work is done rather than what lands on the glass. West and south elevations have to be done first thing in the morning. Any company working a Riverside house in a circle in the afternoon will leave streaks on the same side every time. Riverside also has real citrus heritage, with grove ground still throwing dust on the farming calendar, and the historic Mission Inn and Wood Streets districts hold early-century glass that needs hand work rather than equipment.

Cajon Pass and Santa Ana Canyon funneling produce the strongest offshore wind in Southern California, arriving from the desert with sand and grit. Tracks pack, weep holes block, screen mesh abrades, and the north and east elevations load hardest.
